Hockey Betting Explained

Canadian Line

The Canadian line is a combination goal and money line. The team wagered on must win by the goal spread and the amount to lay or take is determined by the money line odds.

Example:
Rangers -1½ -130
Flyers -1½ +110

Rangers wager: The team must win by 2 or more. You would lay $130 to win $110.

Flyers wager: The team cannot lose by more than one goal. You would lay $100 to win $110

American Line (Puck Line) – The team wagered on must win by the goal line spread. All play on the goal line is even money unless otherwise noted.

Example:
Canadiens -2
Kings +1½

Canadians wager: The team must win by more than 2 goals. You lay $100 to win $100

Kings wager: The team cannot lose by more than 1 goal. You lay $100 to win $100.

Future Wagering
Future Wagers, such as to win the Stanley Cup, will be graded as soon as the season is over.
